Hello! 

Dogs and nature aren't just my passions—they're my life! I grew up immersed in the world of dogs. My family raised Dachshunds and Belgian Shepherds, and I spent much of my childhood participating in puppy raising, training, and dog shows. My first love was my miniature long-haired Dachshund, Romeo, who sparked a lifelong passion for dogs and the incredible bond we share with them.

 

After moving from Saskatchewan to Alberta, my dogs and I quickly fell in love with the breathtaking Rocky Mountains! You'll often find us hiking trails, exploring forests, and embracing every adventure the outdoors has to offer. Those adventures inspire the heart of Barkworthy Adventures and remind me every day how much happier dogs are when they have opportunities to explore, learn, and simply be dogs.

 

For the past four incredible years, I've had the privilege of helping dogs experience the freedom and enrichment they deserve! My goal is to help every dog build confidence, strengthen the bonds that enrich their lives, and enjoy the simple joy of being a dog. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a once-hesitant dog become an eager adventurer!

Providing the best care for your dog means never stopping learning! That's why I've combined years of hands-on experience with formal education to build a strong foundation in understanding canine relationships and behaviour.

I completed a three-year apprenticeship through Impawsible Possible Inc., learning alongside Cat Harbord in Integrative Dog Training, Behaviour Consulting, and Pooch Peace Building. This invaluable experience completely transformed the way I approach dogs. It taught me that there's often far more going on than meets the eye, and that behaviour never exists in isolation. Every dog is part of a complex web of relationships—with humans, other animals, their environment, their physical health, their internal experiences, and their past experiences. Understanding those relationships is the foundation of helping dogs live their best lives!

My educational background also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Honours and Distinction from Athabasca University, as well as two years of Plant Biology studies at the University of Calgary. 

Additional certifications include Canine First Aid (Dogsafe) and Wildlife & Bear Awareness (eSafety First Canada).
